Hey GPAA GOLD PROSPECTOR,
Kevin here, I am looking forward to meeting up with you on the Hey Budee #10 claim.
Here is some additional information that I think you should have before we start prospecting.
There has been a lot of water and flooding in the area so be careful coming up Coolgardie Road. It is most likely to be rough and a few washed places as well. I always recommend a 4x4 or a higher clearance 2wd truck for this claim.
Because of rain I will say that Drywahing is most likely off the table for this trip. Not an issue though. We are going to be doing a lot of prospecting and trending that is more testing and sampling small sections over running a lot of material. Our goal is to “Trend the Gold” and that will give you a better view of the spots you want to work in the future.
Here’s what you should have with you. Yes, I am leaving drywashers in just in case.
Gear up – Must Have’s
Pick & #2 and #1 Shovels – Classifiers down to 1⁄4 inch – Number of 5 gal buckets – Food, water – note pad. PPE (including sunscreen, First Aid kit and dust mask if Drywashing)
*OPTIONAL ITEMS - GOOD TO HAVE BUT NOT REQUIRED
Drywasher - Recirculating unit - Metal Detector – GPS
Weather looks pretty good; it is predicted to be windy with a high temp around 61° in other words perfect for Prospecting. Of course, the wind will make it feel a bit cooler so dress appropriately and wear safety or sunglasses just to keep the sand out of your eyes.
Actually, now that I think about it, the weather may be perfect for learning some really old-time prospecting. If you’ve got an old king size sheet that you don’t care about, bring it with you.
If you have not yet registered, click here to sign up. Or email Kevinsgoldtrail@goldprospectors.org to let us know you're coming. We'll send you meetup details after you register.
I will be driving by 4:30am. Should be there around 7am. Please send me the info!!!
